Fight a speed camera ticket.
NYC has thousands of school zone speed cameras running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you got a notice in the mail, we'll check whether it holds up before you pay.

How NYC speed camera tickets work
- Cameras operate in school speed zones 24/7, year-round
- A ticket is issued only when a vehicle goes more than 10 mph over the posted limit
- The fine is $50
- No license points and no insurance reporting — the owner is liable, not the driver
- The program was extended by New York State through 2030
Don't wait: you have 30 days from the date the ticket was issued to dispute it before late penalties are added. Unanswered camera violations go into judgment after about 75 days; parking tickets after about 100 days.
Grounds we look for
- The plate in the photo was misread or isn't your vehicle
- The vehicle was stolen at the time (with a police report)
- You had sold the car or surrendered the plates before the violation date
- Errors on the notice, such as wrong make, location, or date
- Problems with the speed limit posting or camera records for that location
How we help
Send us a photo of the speed camera notice (front and back if it's a paper notice) plus your plate number using the form, by text, or on WhatsApp at 212-666-1234. We review it free, tell you honestly whether it's worth fighting, and if it is, we prepare and file the dispute with the NYC Department of Finance and follow it through. Our fee is a $2.99 processing fee per ticket we dispute plus 50% of what you save if it's dismissed — if we don't win, you don't pay the 50%.
Frequently asked questions
- Are NYC speed cameras on at night and on weekends?
- Yes. Since August 2022, school zone speed cameras run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year.
- How fast do I have to go to get a speed camera ticket?
- More than 10 mph over the posted limit in a school speed zone.
- Will it raise my insurance?
- No. Speed camera violations don't add points and aren't used for insurance purposes.
- What happens if I get a lot of them?
- Unpaid tickets add penalties and can go into judgment, which can lead to booting or towing. Owners with many violations in a year can also face extra requirements.
